How he got into music.
Josh used to visit a music shop and look at the drums admiring them knowing that he wanted to try play them but was always asked to leave the store cause he never bought anything. Josh started learning the drums at the age of 12 after he got his first drum kit he used to go home from school and play his kit learning music through playing music through his headphones and drumming to them as a backing track similarly to how I learned the drums.
Inspirational work and performances.
Josh's music or music he contributes to aren't just pieces of music they are actual works of art coming that aren't intrusive to the others musicians work it actually complements it and plays co-operatively with the music a skill I learned through listening to his work. Ever since I started learning the drums I picked up techniques and playstyles fast but never really tried using them sparingly thanks to my old influences being heavy rock based and how I thought about using these techniques would make me look like a better drummer instead of learning how to surprise people using these techniques sparingly I wouldn't learn this until discovering Josh's work.
The first piece of his work I had listened to was Twenty one pilots song Stressed out in 2016 but never really tried checking out anymore of his music until the release of the song Chlorine in the Twenty One P\AF3ilots album named Trench.

What the release of this album provoked.
Trench was the first album released after their last titled 'Blurryface' the album which included Stressed out. after Listening to chlorine I decided to give the other songs like Ride, Taxi cab and Cut my lip songs I really listened to regularly thanks to the Inspirational Lyrics and Delicate drumming on the track which influenced my playstyle and taught me to be be a bit more disciplined and strategic when approaching my performances.

His influence on my playstyle.
Neon gravestones.
I knew about ghost notes before listening to
this song but the use of them in this song though it's no secret that they are heavily used in this song followed eventually by a open Hi-Hat and base crash to indicate the end of the for bar loop to enter the chorus or next section of the song and a similar approach is taken in the song of the same album titled 'leave the city'.
The songs both contributed to my knowledge on the appropriate use of ghost notes in music and when It's appropriate to use drum rolls and crash cymbals to bridge parts between sections of songs with out over doing them.

Analysis of one of these songs in the 'Twenty one pilots' album.

Taxi Cab.
Wrote/Produced by Tyler Joseph
Instrumental analysis.
The Piano baring similarities to the song Easy a song by the commodores provides a easy no pun intended entrance to the song allowing the listeners passage into the song a familiar, natural and nostalgic opening for the song.
The drums complement the piano with the snares irregular of beat hit on the four of the 4/4 time signature allows a passage for the songs momentum to continue playing nicely with the pianos open gaps and silent blank spots.
Lyrical analysis.
So the hearse ran out of gas, a passenger person grabbed a map
And the driver inside it contrived a new route to save the past
And checked his watch and grabbed a cab, a beautifully plain taxi cab
A cab, had a cleared out back and two men started to unpack.
The Meaning.
Being a passage for the writer to explain that they needed to find a new rout to get home after the Herse runs out of gas the use of Plosives and Alliteration in 'So the hearse ran out of gas, a passenger person grabbed a map' the use of plosives provides the singer a element of attention to give that attention to the metaphor used the in way of the "map"
The Map.
The metaphor is conveyed and branded with a higher meaning the “map” is used after “the hearse ran out of gas” This tells the listener a new route was needed for this soul after they were saved from the hearse or probably saved by the destination of the hearse.
Passenger person
The map can also be taken as a metaphor for the Bible, when the writer says “passenger person grabbed a map” this could allude to spiritual guide, angel, finding a new way for the person to go similar to how people seek the bible or god for answers and when they use the map it's like when people begin to read the Bible, creating a new path for this person’s direction in life.
The driver
The driver after the 'passenger person' gets the map is most likely God preparing a new plan for the writer this is backed up by the religious allusions throughout the song and the reference to the Trinity just a few lines later “But now this time there were three men” probably alluding to the three wise men.
