Today I'm going list three essential elements of live sound beginning with the foldback.

foldback.

In the photo above the yellow arrow points towards what musicians call foldback speakers, monitors speakers, stage monitors, floor monitors or wedges, effectively what foldback is a small speaker that allows performers to hear themselves on stage while singing/playing a instrument during a performance which is definitely a necessary part of a performance cause without the use of foldback some performances would fall apart thanks to the musicians not being able to hear themselves.

Foldback

Basically this speaker is like any other speaker but are mainly designed to be placed on the floor and face up to direct all it sound to the performers onstage this extremely important to the integrity of the performance.

Backline.

Basically backline is and example of feedback or reinforcement the word backline is used to describe audio amplification equipment for bands behind the stage, such as amplifiers for guitars or synthesizers, drums, microphones and other instruments Backline is basically a collection of equipment to give feedback to the musicians.

When a gig is booked before the event, the agent, manager, or band should need check with the promoter, venue, or club to discuss the backline needs of the band without this being done the band may attend the gig without something essential to the and this may compromise the performance.

Also the promoter will effectively have to have a good idea of what the band is taking with them like instruments, mics, and amps, and what the promoter will need to provide for the band for the event. The promoter will also need to have a understanding of the technical specifications for the band.

Front of house (FOH)

Front of house also known as FOV have engineers basically in charge of mixing audio for the audience, everything you hear coming out of the PA speakers being controlled by the FOH engineer.

This role is vitally important to allowing all the audio is projected to the audience without any problems they usually make the decision to set the particular volumes they sit within the audience and adjust the volume of to fit the crowd making sure the audio isn't too loud or quiet while also keeping focusing on making sure all the particular effects are being used at the right times during the particular songs.

Here is a video explaining the role:
