So after talking with the band about the perfect performance I have managed to list 3 techniques that can help our productivity in the performance:
Utilise our time Instead of talking.
Play along with the original song like a metronome for the band.
Make sure we stay on task via continuously playing the songs back to back.
List what you thought were good and bad examples and state why you thought so? Would you implement them into your rehearsals?
I thought utilising our time was the most natural suggestion by the band and I immediately agreed with it, obviously our time is precious and we need it to get a more coherent performance while also allowing us to discipline ourselves and keep us on task.
At first I thought playing along with the original song in the background was a smart idea since we need something to keep our eyes on the prize but now thinking about it I could be a bad idea since we could get so used to using the songs as our metronomes that we may not be able to do the songs without them and as strange as that may sound I do reckon we should not over utilise this technique because it may become the status quo for out band and when it comes to performing the songs without the backing track.
Like the last technique I reckon making sure we stay on task via continuously playing the songs back to back is sort of a bad idea, since over using this technique could result in a negative side effect and when I say negative side effect I mean after playing the songs too much during a performance can get irritating and boring for many and maybe it's a better idea to implement breaks to allow us to rejuvenate our interest in the song without overdoing it.
List how knowing these rehearsal techniques will also be useful when coming to analyse your rehearsal and performances.
I think all these techniques a good ideas and can push dedication into the band an though some of them may be a bit repetitive like playing a song continuously playing the songs back to back but it can be utilised and be used in positive ways like when we record our continuous rehearsals we can go over the footage to see where exactly we go wrong and how to improve it. When talking about Utilising our time it really comes in useful for the band to make sure we get as much footage of rehearsals as possible as reference for our work so keeping on task instead of talking will guarantee a better result during a performance. so going over the footage definitely is something our band needs to do to improve upon our work.
