Our task as Performers.

Today along with preparing to ask our A&R questions we also needed to perform our weakest and strongest songs we are planning to perform on the 9th of december, we were also chose to represent our band identity onstage going with a simple color scheme of black and white almost paralleling the white stripes only without the red, we thought It was appropriate since one of the songs we perform Another way to die was wrote and produced by a former member of the white stripes Jack white.

Another way to die Review.

Taking into account the first song Another way to die is our weakest song we tried to the best of our ability to keep the flow of the song going but since we were all over the place throughout the performance we had no other choice but to ride out the embarrassment of our performance. Nonetheless we can accept criticism and we will try to make due with the time we have for the upcoming gig on the 9th by continuously practicing this song until we get it right.

Unnatural Review

Considered this is our strongest song our bands performance was average only due to the fact we were unorganised though we remained consistent throughout the song the ending seemed to let us down, early talk before our performance was the main downfall of the organisation of the song originally we planned to have our guitarist Toby do a guitar solo insider the song, as we got closer to the performance we collectively had trouble thinking whether or not it was smart to keep the guitar solo in the performance since we hadn't exactly mastered it yet and since we didn't know how long the guitar solo would last we were conflicted.

Thanks to this before the performance focusing on so many things like remembering our particular parts we nether discussed the guitar solo so Toby didn't exactly know whether not to do it, this would turn out to be a problem with the ending of the song since we didn't know how to stop toby from vibing to the awesome sound of his guitar, I tried breaking down my drum beat to indicate that we were about to end but toby was too preoccupied with his solo so this led Jayden simply telling toby to stop onstage, other than that I believe it was a strong performance since we managed to stay consistent enough to our normal rehearsals.

A&R.

Yesterday our band was tasked with thinking of some A&R questions to ask a band onstage today relating to their performance onstage so our band went over each of our questions brainstorming a good group of corresponding questions that work well when asked to the bands after their performance without having each other asking the same thing.

Our role as A&R panelists.

Effectively our band has carefully went though questions to ask to make sure we fulfilled the role as A&R panelists, asking critical questions to provide us a better understanding of the band and their performance.

We each overall planned to ask one question each my question was asking how exactly the band prepared their stage movement in rehearsal time since one of the bands in college had prepared for their performances by all facing in one direction during their rehearsal time showing organization and it pays off when they perform so I asked this question to see if the band had thought about their stage presence before getting onstage and also In another sense this was constructive criticism to remind the band members that may not have worried about their stage performance would think twice next time they performed

Light/Sound engineer.

My main focus while behind the Mixing desk was on the lights with Toby while Jayden and Holly focused on the sound and Aseel decided to take videos of the performance, For both songs I had my hands on the lights but I still kept a eye on what exactly Jayden and Holly were doing since I have a interest in working behind the mixing desk in future learning as much as possible while helping Toby do the lights, here in both videos you can see my contribution to the other bands performance while behind the lights.

During this song my aim was to have the lights follow the drums and also by keeping by having the stage barely lit would go with the calm spirit of the song so when it came to the chorus the lights would pick up and flash from left and right to get the audience moving granted there wasn't any audience other than the A&R panel but it was worth a shot.
