Sound Technician.
Sound technicians have many roles just making sure the audio is ok, they also provide equipment for their whatever gig they doing mainly live shows. as a technician you will have to have the knowledge on how to use the equipment regardless if it's is your own or not so make sure you know the basics to avoid any problems or disappointing the people who hired you so make sure you know how to handle problems if they occur. make sure you can physically do this job since you should be willing to move and take apart some heavy equipment which is used in the performances, so not only are you required to have very expansive knowledge what exactly you are using and you should also have some strength move carry the equipment.
Front of house Technician
A front of house technician or F.O.H for short controls the music, effects and sounds that the audience are listening to during a live performance. They control effects on each particular instrument they also keep a eye the mixing level the all the music inputs so if something is too loud or if an instrument too prominent the technician will need to deal with it to avoid losing their job and reputation.
They also monitor vocals making sure the levels of the vocalists are good and fix anything that sounds off level during the performances, The technician presets for the performers songs that's being performed at the gig so its required to know what the band wants out of their performance and what they want the audience to hear during the performance.
Monitor Engineer:
Monitor engineers control and mix the performers sound during the performance so the performers can hear when performing making the Monitor engineer a key part of the bands performance since they are relying the monitor engineer to keep what the band can hear at a decent level not too loud not too quiet, If ever you mess up and have a instrument too loud it's not too late since you have the power on the mixing desk to change the audio and keep thing flowing well.
Any surprises from the working conditions:
diving into the learning the difference between the Monitoring engineer and F.O.H engineer to allow myself to get the hang of what what I was talking about and display my knowledge of the role I'm writing about, so when learning about what is needed in these working environments I wasn't really surprised with what I found out since I did originally know what to expect when it came to learning about theses jobs.
