Preparing
We had two hours and twenty minutes to prepare for our turn onstage plus the sound check earlier that day the sound check was great to unnerve the band and to help us understand how performing onstage will go later that night.
Before the performance the band asked me to slow down the songs even though we prepared to play the songs at a certain speed it was best to slow them down so they could be longer for the audience to catch on with all of the songs so I played them at the tempo we recorded them in the studio (how I wanted to originally)
You want me performance.
The opening to the song was strong Toby and I built a count in and we opened the song up well and collaboratively the we worked a strong entrance to the song while Lily worked on invoking audience engagement and got the audience engaged on the opening build up before the vocals came in this provided us with a positive reaction and engagement from the audience having people cheering and clapping along.
Drumming was energetic though maybe not exactly perfect since coming in after the first chorus I messed up hitting my first drum when coming into Lily’s verse was scuffed but I pretended like the mistake never happened and continued to build up the song.
Owe it all to you performance.
Though slower than usual rehearsals the performance was perfect i utilised my drum rolls well and cymbal work was perfect on the build up though we planned for a more acoustic quite downed version of the song we got a well performed version of the song.
The audience worked well with us under the build up clapping along and shouting more and more though there wasn’t much wrong about the song other than misplacing the drums on the last build up I did manage to play as if the the mistake was intentional and faded the drums to play more quietly when the weren’t supposed to be playing.
Let you go performance.
Let you go is naturally a slow and quiet song I represent the drums well on this song though I believe they could have been less prominent in this song I’m happy with the performance overall.
Though I think me counting In would have presented a more consistent flowing song my contribution later on clicking the drum sticks to invoke the audience to clap was done well and really effective,Drum rolls where smooth and provoked clapping and cheering entering different point within the song and the use of cymbals worked really well when fading into Lily’s solo and Toby’s verse.
Fallen out with love Performance.
The opening to the song was good though I think counting in slower would have benefited the band more favourably I was just following the base tempo for our studio recoding.
The audience was engaged and were cheering on nicely throughout the performance I even had people pointing at me a clapping along throughout the song.
Coming into the chorus of the song the mics where placed poorly and cause poor feedback though Liv and Lily quickly sorted the problem along with the sound engineer.
The build up in this song was poor but even though I played it bad we I did manage to play consistent with the tempo band can only wish if I was to do it again it’d be done right also the ending of the song could have been more fluent but we move on.
Eighteen Performances.
Eighteen was perfect thought possibly Liv could have been louder for the audience onstage she was heard well at least from where I was sat.
The song had people clapping along and cheering, drum rolls and cymbal work as decent and we were all moving around and had the crowd for this engaged for the whole song, Build ups could have been better but they still transition sections of the song well.
I had a vocal contribution to the song I had to count in the final stretch of the song maybe I could have fully counted to four but Lily had reach over the kit and then immediately go back into vocals so I counted to three then hit the snare on four to help everyone come in on time and so they were comfortable entering into the last stretch.
Time performance.
Entering our last song the hitting the hi hats to build into the song was sloppy but the audience clicked onto the tempo of the track and engaged in clapping along in time to the song, Liv on bass and me on drums were working really well together and Toby’s electric guitar helped complement the build up to the chorus of the song.
Placing the the cymbals on the second clicks through the enter hook of the came in really well and placed really well after doing my fast drum rolls.
The final build up went well toby engaged the audience and got them to clap along and the after the last build we had people dancing and asking for more music.
The entire band did really well and it shows since the audience wanted a encore.
You want me performance… again.
This was a more hyped up and energetic performance of the song since we still had nerves and were happy with the last performance with time ending really well we decided that since we didn’t have a encore planned we’d go back a play you want me again since it was our most catchy song.
The song went as well as last time though it engaged the audience more and had more people dancing.
The ending to the song provoked tears and cheers people loved it and there wasn’t any mistakes made that came to play on our last song of the set.
We engaged the audience one last time and thanked them for coming while they clapped as we left the stage.
